Those of you familiar with the pro touring scene know the name Brian Finch. He’s been wheeling hardcore stuff around road courses and cones for many years and he’s been doing it with a signature aggressive style that is highly entertaining to watch. I have been able to announce a few autocross events where he’s bee competing and the crowd always comes to the fence when they know Finch is about to run. This video is an awesome example of his skills behind the wheel and how hard he brings it each and every time he hits the course.
The video was taken by Eric Henderson, who mounted a GoPro camera to the roof of Finch’s car and why this video is doubly cool is that we see and hear the car while also getting a front row seat of Finch working the tiller inside. From hanging the tail out to banging the LS engine off the rev limiter, this is a guy who shows up to play each and every time his car hits the course. The early second generation Camaro is chock full of the bestest pro touring stuff out there these days and while it is street legal, we’d say that it skews harder toward the race car side of things than the street car side of things. That’s not a shot, that’s just our opinion.
Finally, the course as Nashville is trickier than most because of a weird element. The parking lot was sealed there last year and that sealant gets kind of weird when you apply lots of heat and really grippy tires to it. This is probably the reason Brian’s car is largely hunting for traction throughout the run filmed in this video. While sideways isn’t the “fast” way around, it sure is hella fun to watch!
