Most of you have probably never found your engine or transmission dipstick to be off, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t. When you mix aftermarket dipsticks, tubes, and oil or transmission pans, you never really know if any of these go together enough to be accurate on how much fluid is in the transmission or engine. I know that I have filled an engine with the proper amount of oil, according to the oil pan manufacturer, only to find that the dipstick reads a full quart low. Hmmm. I guess that is better than it reading full when it isn’t!

In this video you are going to see how to check your automatic transmission dipstick to see just how accurate you own dipstick is. An automatic transmission is different than an engine, with regards to the location of the oil when full, but you’ll get the point.
