It takes effort to look at a rough car and convince yourself that you can make the diamond in the rough shine through, but usually most project cars don’t start with having to move a skull out of the backseat, either. In John Cerone’s case, the 1962 Ford Falcon that he started building three years ago started out as a very rough shell of a car that needed considerable help. He had running gear ready to go courtesy of a V8 Ranger project that got cut short. With the Falcon being entered into the $5,000 Challenge, any savings would be welcomed!
After a good amount of work with a Shop-Vac and a pressure washer, Cerone got down to jamming the Falcon full of Ford V8. The Falcon was cleaned up and over the years it has nicely progressed from yard art to a stomper. Sure, it looks pretty much done, but it isn’t…plans are in place to put a supercharger on the 302 under the hood. There’s lots to read, but it’s cold outside, so get a warm drink and read up on the transformation!
