Recently we showed you an old press photo from our personal archive of the stunning 1957 Lincoln Mark II and the not so stunning 1957 Lincoln Premier. That shot did not give the full fledged view of the Premier’s deficient looks, so we decided to rummage around until we found a shot that did.
The four headlamps were supposed to present a stunning visual as the Premier and Capri were the only two cars in America at that time sporting the dual stacked lamps on both sides. Unfortunately, what it did was take a car that looked stately with two headlamps in 1956 but that looked freakish with four in 1957. Sales tumbled as a result.
The rear of the car is another story, with full-on fins and total 1950s goodness happening. So this is kind of like the mullet of cars. Business in the front and a party in the rear. Wait a second, mullets sucked too.
