The more we learn about Jason Line, the more we like the guy. He is one of the more interesting dudes to ever dominate NHRA competition. With his background as a NASCAR engine guru at the Joe Gibbs operation, his current gig as one half of the most dominant NHRA Pro Stock tandem of the last decade, and now the announcement that he will be driving at Bonneville this year, he’s a 100% certified gearhead ninja. Stock car racing, the drags, and Bonneville are like the holy trinity of American motorsports and to be involved in all three disciplines at such a high level is very rare and cool.

We learned of Jason’s participation in Bonneville high speed action this year through Wayne Jesel who posted on his Facebook page that Line would be driving Jesel’s familiar Dodge pickup truck. They are going to run on A/MP records and the pickup will be powered by a 499ci DRCE 2 Pro Stock motor. That Pro Stock mill will wear EFI on top, which is ironically not legal in NHRA competition. We dig it.

When more details of this project become available, we will share them. The use of an EFI Pro Stock engine, in a big honkin’ pickup truck, driven by a professional NHRA drag racer? Yeah, that is hella cool.
