Watch An Extremely Violent Wreck From The 2012 X-Games Rallycross – A Jump Goes Very Wrong

Watch An Extremely Violent Wreck From The 2012 X-Games Rallycross – A Jump Goes Very Wrong

During the X-Games, a high intensity, made for TV version of rally cross is held and frankly, it is pretty fun to watch. Small rally-ish cars with lots of power and all wheel drive haul ass around a course, jump over stuff, and spend most of their time on the course totally sideways. During a practice session for the races, driver Toomas Heikkinen who is a 21 year old guy from Finland discovered what happens when you don’t carry enough speed into one of the jumps.

His car, a highly modified Ford Fiesta smashed face first into the leading edge of the ramp and wrecked hard onto the ground. While sitting upside down on said ground, it caught on fire, but Heikkinen was able to climb out. He apparently suffered a broken ankle among other injuries that were not life threatening but serious enough in our book.

We could go on for hours about this one, but press play below to see as hard a shot as you’ll see all day. All that talk about how it is the “sudden stop” that gets you, well stops don’t come much more sudden than this one!

Press play below and see how not to jump your rally prepped Ford Fiesta –
