Best of BangShift 2010 : A Pile of Potential Projects For Less Than $2500

We hear people complaining all the time about how expensive and inaccessible the car hobby is. While it isn’t as cheap as dedicating your life to playing World of Warcraft, there are literally thousands of potential projects out there for $2500 or less.

BangShift.com forum member Joes66Fury2 decided to start poking around Craigslist in his local Tuscon, Arizona, area to see what he could find for projects in the $2500 range. It didn’t take long for tons of other members to start hitting their local areas as well, and before too long a massive (and growing) list of solid sub-$3,000 projects was stacking up like cord wood.

What’s really eye-opening is the fact that these cars are not total junk. The majority of them need some tlc, a good clean up, and light mechanical work to be road ready. For us, road ready has nothing to do with physical beauty. It’s about (and this may be too much for some people) using the freaking car

Hit the link below to see a mind-blowing list of awesome junk for $2500 or less. That’s not pocket change, but it is also a very realistic number of bucks for someone who wants to start a budget project on a solid foundation.

Old cars are still pretty cheap, so long as you’re willing to get dirty and give them the love that they deserve. If you aren’t, please find your way to the door.
