The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a bucket list event for virtually every gearhead on the planet and the reason is pretty simple. You can see cars from just about every era, country, and style of racing the world has ever known. This week’s Parting Shift video comes from that event and it features driver Andy Robinson rip roaring a 2014 Aussie V8 Supercar Ford Falcon up the famed course at full tilt. The sounds the car makes as Robinson hammers it up the are eargasm levels of good and he doesn’t seem to spare the rod on this thing at all, really getting after it as best he can on the bendy, narrow course.
As most of you know the Aussie V8 SuperCar series has been a staple of the country’s racing culture for decades and over the years the cars have advanced and evolved into the monsters that they are today. Lots of people (maybe even us, included) would love to see our own NASCAR series look more like the SuperCar series. They are production based cars with production based engines and as you will see and hear in this video, they are bad fast.
Sure it may be some sort of zooty sequential gear box on this car but it sure sounds good as Robinson absolutely hammers the machine up the hill. You’ll like it!
