Stoney Lonesome ORV Park in Alabama recently opened up a new hill climb location, dubbed “Geronimo”, and offered up a cash prize of $500 to the first UTV that could make it to the top. Sounds like all the reason you would ever need to hop into a side-by-side and nail your foot to the floor? Don’t be in that big of a rush just yet. “Geronimo” isn’t a friendly little hill…it’s got one hell of a slope, is surrounded by trees, and is coated with a layer of leaves and mud. That doesn’t bode well for a skilled driver, let alone someone who has their foot buried to the floor, hoping for the best. Take a tip from the British Sporting Trials scene – fit way narrower tyres to cut through the mud and drop the pressure to present a wider footprint. Then look for an even steeper and slippery hill.
