You want to go fast right now, but don’t have the time and/or inclination to put together your own ride? Hey, we understand that some people are busy and want immediate satisfaction, and today we have an answer for you in the form of this 2001 Chevrolet Silverado short bed. Right off the bat, take a look out back…those are the biggest D.O.T. legal tires Mickey Thompson makes. That bodes pretty well for what lies ahead, and there is plenty to like. The Silverado was “professionally built, very clean, runs good, looks good, sounds good and needs nothing”, and features “UEGO 1000 wide band digital O2, Pioneer Stereo with CD, iPod and USB with upgraded speakers and amplifier, Auto Meter boost gauge, power everything, tinted windows, alarm, WeatherTech floor mats. 2005 Machine Silver Metallic paint, custom aluminum bed interior, tonneau cover”.
The front suspension sports 2″ drop spindles and 2″ lowering coils with KYB shocks, while out back in the rear suspension a narrowed Ford 9″, 35-spline Strange axles, Posi, 4.56 gears, Strange billet calipers and rotors support the steamrollers. Underhood a 5.3L LS is breathed on with a Paxton Novi 1200 supercharger and a Vortech Maxflow charge cooler, which shoves power thorough a worked over 4L80E that is packing a 10.5″ Vigilante multi-clutch billet torque converter, which comes in handy when spiritedly merging onto the 101 Loop in the Phoenix Metro.
Someone spent a lot of time and money sorting this Chevy out, and you would be hard pressed to duplicate the build for the press-time bid of under $9,200. It’s clean, smooth and wicked, yet the 5.3 is probably docile enough for around-town chores, if you are so inclined. On the other side of the coin, there is always LS Fest….just putting that out there.

Sweet looking truck! Too bad they have poor leg room (at least for me), wish it was an extended cab.
Nice truck, can not see how it could ever be legal here in California, oh well
Wanna race Drag Week? Buy this truck and pray you get one of the golden tickets!
Yeah, but the bidding is north of $15,500 now and it’s not even hit a reserve…and it’s being sold by a ‘specialty car company’ which means they will be holding out for some ridiculous amount of money.
