Would you want to be a stretch limo driver? I would only do the job if it involved a route that went between Topeka, Kansas and Denver, because the only place that operating a real stretch limo would be easy would be on the boring plains of Interstate 70 between the two cities. Anywhere else and having an elongated Lincoln becomes a royal pain in the ass. It isn’t like an RV, where you can justify the length with the sleeping compartment and built-in toilet…you have an expensive rental car that reeks of booze, bad decisions and cheap escort service in the back end and frustrated driver in the forward compartment.
Now, here’s a fun situation: what do you do when the S.S. Town Car’s severely underpowered 4.6L V8 kicks the bucket? It’s too big for a standard tow truck, it’s too small for a semi-truck tow truck, and according to this picture, too damn long for the flatbed. In the military, the order would be to “blow in place”: smash the sunroof in, drop two live grenades and run like hell. But that’s frowned upon in the real world, so we have…this. Any of you wise acre types want to take a jab at this one? Maybe one of you tow truck operators?

Keep 3k in the glove box for an impromptu roadside LS swap. Anything is better/more reliable/more powerful than that mod motor lump!
Perfect car for 24 hours of lemons. Maybe even sell some rides along the way………..
That Limo Driver’s not playin’ with a full deck!!
I see smashed exhaust and one half of the two piece driveshaft. The smart ones use a hook to tow the stretch limos. But something tells me this ten year old stretch was only worth its scrap weight before it got on tow truck.
lol
Should run the winch cable under the limo to the front end and fold it in half.
So that’s what all those white women felt like!
(Thank you Chef from South Park!)
Of course the idiot wrecker driver could have used that hydraulic
lifting device that is hanging there under the damn roll-off. It’s used to pickup vehicles at the wheels.
No that ‘hydraulic lifting device’ will NOT pick up that much Weight. The wheel lift on a light duty roll back will lift around 4,000 pounds. Either end of that Limo is lifting 5-7K. The Bed it’s self will lift 8,500-12,000 depending on cylinders, frame construction.
I would only have attempted such if it was an Emergency removal, police tow. Most single vehicle bed roll backs are under 25 foot long bed. A stretch limo will not fit on those. You either need a longer bed Equipment roll back or a 2 car deck transport roll back (often with a over cab carrier and a wheel lift_
Best way to haul such is a land-all trailer.
