I didn’t go looking for this thing and even when I found it I was so short on time I could only blast a few cursory photos and continue my sprint around the 2013 SEMA show firing my camera in a panicked and willy-nilly fashion. I also realize that there are exactly 0.0% of BangShifters interested in buying an insanely expensive Espresso machine, but saying that doesn’t mean we can’t admire the damn thing. Seriously, look at this. Modeled off of a Formula One V8 engine, it is made by an Italian company called Espresso Veloce and it is one of 380 that will be produced. If you like different eras in Formula One engine history, there is a V10 and V12 model as well. I do not have pricing because I couldn’t get it at the SEMA booth nor does their website show it, but let’s be honest with each other. If you have to ask how much something like this costs, you are not the intended audience. Other that the whole unit being of amazingly high quality, we know it is expensive because the exhaust pipes on the engine (where the coffee is dispensed) are made of titanium. Ti-flipping-tanium.
From start to finish, the process of getting your billet aluminum cup of Espresso takes 26 seconds. The engine uses a high pressure water pump to force boiling hot water through a small coffee cartridge. As it passes through the cartridge, it basically brews and then coms out the exhaust pipe. The added coolness in this piece is the red button on the top that injects a pre-determined amount of your favorite booze into the coffee. We’d be slapping that button like we were on The Price Is Right because you know whoever owned the unit was rich enough to afford good booze. Not rot-gut in this baby!
Production run of 380, hand made in Italy, titanium exhaust pipes with realistic bluing, wow. It would be bitchin to own this thing just to gawk at it on the counter. Too bad I don’t drink coffee or have any money.
SCROLL DOWN TO SEE A BUNCH OF PHOTOS OF THE VELOCE V8 ESPRESSO MAKER!
I didn’t see a milk frother/steamer, is that an option?
I think the clutch can be best described as “cute”.
A whole Latte Horse Power!
There’s something so completely wrong about this …. that its almost right . Talk about getting your ‘ leaded ‘ and ‘ unleaded ‘ ( decaffeinated ) fix going in genuine Gearhead style ! 😉
Leave it to my Italian cousins to come up with something like this . I am curious about the price though . How’s about a link to their site ?
Needs a turbo.
YOu guys reviewing coffee makers now? Go check out the V-8 TWO STROKE on YouTube instead!
The two stroke V8s have been around for years in boats. That one you are talking about (If we are thinking about the same video) sound cool because it has the expansion chamber style exhaust on it. It is an Evinrude 300hp job most likely.
It is funny you brought this up because I put a two stroke V8 boat motor dyno video into the queue for tomorrow!
As i sit here drinking a French press of espresso (yeah I’m that die hard, I’m drinking regular coffee brewed with espresso blend) I flick my thumbnail at those Italians who think that the little instant coffee caps can pass as an espresso shot. Shame on them! A real espresso machine uses ground beans not the coffee equilivant of Tang!
They need to do a blown Hemi version.
seen an article the other day I think there like 1 3k for the unit
I’ve got a Chevy smallblock with a cracked block sitting around doing nothing right now. This coffee machine is giving me bad ideas.
