Incredible Video: The Construction Of Camp Century – The US Army’s Secret Nuclear Powered Based Located Entirely Under Snow And Ice In Greenland During the 1950s-1960s

Allow us to show you one of the coolest and most amazing things you will ever see and something you probably never knew about. We’re not going conspiracy theory here, we’re not going black helicopter, we’re showing you a US Army video that follows the construction of US Army Camp Century in Greeland. Camp Century was a project approved by the Danish government which controlled Greenland (and still does in some respects) that was basically an Army base built completely under the snow and ice, powered by the world’s first portable nuclear reactor. This video shows the construction of the incredible base and it is straight out of something you’d read in a science fiction book.

The base was built in 1960 and was used until 1965 when scientists discovered that the ice which the base was built into was moving at a much quicker rate than anyone thought that it did. This was a problem because it was determined that all of the ice tunnels and “buildings” built by the Army would collapse within two years. When the safety of the world’s first portable nuclear was in jeopardy, the Army decided to cut bait and they left (taking the reactor home with them).

While the Army told the Danes and the rest of the world that the purpose of this exercise was to test out how to build bases in arctic environments and to work on portable nuclear reactor technology, the real idea behind it was much more intense. If they made this base work, the Army was planning to dig thousands of miles of tunnels and create medium range nuclear missile launch sites where they could reach Moscow with serious ordinance quickly in the event of a nuclear war.

So, what’s BangShifty about this? EVERYTHING. From the Swedish sourced “Peter Plow” snow milling machines, to the fact that they dragged thousand and thousands of tons of supplies more than 150 miles over ice and snow with modified bulldozers to the fact that they BROUGHT THE FIRST EVER PORTABLE NUCLEAR REACTOR OUT AND STUCK IT IN A MAN MADE ICE CAVERN UNDER GROUND, it is all so outlandish it seems like something from a James Bond movie, but it happened. You’ll see it all in color right there big as life. When you see them wiring the place, adding the plumbing, and then firing up the reactor with dudes handling the uranium fuel rods in T SHIRTS your jaw will hit the floor. Pretty much everything about this video rules. We don’t know what else to say other than it is a half hour of complete and utter bad-assery.
