(Photos by Charles Wickam) – If there’s a place we know Charles Wickam will be during the spring it is the Lonestar Round Up in Texas and more specifically at a place called Top Notch Burgers in the evenings. While the Lodestar Round Up is a car show and a very fun one at that, there’s a whole different world at this event which opens itself up in the evenings. When the show lets out at night people take to the streets in their hot rods and there are hangouts, meet ups, shop tours, barbecues, and more across the city of Austin as hot rod culture takes center stage.
The place Charles loves the best is Top Notch burgers, a drive-in cheeseburger joint that looks and feels like it stepped right out of the 1950s. The atmosphere gets even better when all the old cars show up and the sun goes down so you can see both the building and the cars under the short glow of the restaurant lights. Heck, Charles made such a good impression on the people at Top Notch that they let him walk around on the roof and take photos last year. That’s pretty awesome!
Anyway, here’s this first load of photos from Charles Wickam at his favorite burger joint in the world, “Top Notch Burgers”. The food may be good but the cars are freaking great!
Great shots- I may try to make it next year.
Amend the title, Notch not Botch.
Well airight, alright, alright. Dd a yone see Wooderson? He is supposed to get Aerosmith tickets for me.
I imagine it’s hard to stay in business with a name like Top Botch Burgers.
