This Turbocharged Subaru Swapped 1957 Fiat Is Nuts And You Could Own It!

Power to weight ratio may not be the sexiest stat when it comes to high performance cars but in some cases it is downright incredible. Such is the case of this 1957 Fiat that has been repowered by a hot rodded Subaru engine that is boosted with a Turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid boost maker. We have no idea what this whole package weighs but is it virtually all hanging out of the trunk and that’s why the wheelie bars are there. The ad claims that the engine makes 300hp and we don’t know if that is accurate but so long as it is more than a Briggs and Stratton this thing is going to absolutely haul and scare the hell out of anyone who dares sit inside it. If you like the sounds of a Subie engine we’re guessing that the car sounds rather healthy with the exhaust being about six inches of pipe, a Gibson Muffler, and then your ears.

We have shown more than a couple of these little cars with engine swaps. One with a Corvair mill, others with warmed up little inliners but this is the first one we have seen with the hotted up Subaru boxer engine. There’s a Porsche transaxle to handle the power and the Porsche CV joints and half shafts to transfer the power. All in all this is a wicked little car but we cannot help but think that the handling characteristics are going to be very strange with the weight bias. Bad ideas and a disregard for physics have never slowed us down before so that wouldn’t really deter a purchase here if we had the dough.

The car seems to have been really nicely turned out and we’d certainly pay a nickel to ride shotgun in that sucker!

Cool car. Kinda reminds me of a ” Tur-duc-ken”…only the chicken isn’t cooperating. 🙂

I pity the poor owner of the bitchin’ 1000 HP Scoobie when he lifts the hood to find a Fiat 500 motor…..

Those 500\’s are so narrow that it is hard to fit a decent trans in there and have any decent axle length…. you can see they really pushed out the tires and added those ugly flares (IMO). Even with a wider 600 you only end up with 12\” axles when using the IRS setup. Those poor 12 or 13\” tires with 1000HP are going to getting the short end of the stick too. And those 901 or 915 Porsche trans just don\’t like that much HP either, so maybe slippery tires are a way to get those to live. I only had about 300 HP in my 600 and it was more than enough.
