It only seems like yesterday that the Crusher Camaro, that other bright yellow GM product that has been in the magazines forever, was getting a new engine courtesy of Mast Motorsports. In fact, it has been a few years…that was the episode of Roadkill where you got to see Finnegan talk about the “piranha-chewed wiring” on our own Project Raven Imperial, long before it was a BangShift project and months before I was anything more than a forum member. It’s not like that motor got scattered or anything, so why then is Hot Rod Garage trading one badass LS motor for another? Easy: the Mast Motorsports mill was a loaner, and it was time to ship it back to them. (Seriously, how can we get on that deal?)
The Crusher Camaro has always been about being brutal, so the step-up is a healthy one: the LS7 is being traded out for an Magnuson-supercharged 427ci mill from Blueprint Engines. With tuning, this is a 708 wheel-horsepower bullet that, if worked right, should put the Crusher into single-digit territory on the dragstrip…if the tune can get dialed in, if Tony Angelo can get the car to hook up, and if all of the fuel doesn’t slosh out of the gas tank fill tube at launch. Any guesses on if they meet that criteria?
