We are really digging the Racepak “We Are You” campaign because it is giving people glimpse into the company in a very personal way. Often it is tough to relate to people you are dealing with who you may have never interacted with before, spoken to before, or shared information with before. You have no idea if this person can understand what you are telling them, help you fix your problem, or if they really care about what they are doing. These videos from the company should give lots of comfort to anyone that uses Racepak products and watches them.
I have been seeing Todd Paton at the drag races for the better part of 15 years now. From his IHRA days when I was just getting going in the national event announcing thing to spotting him in the pits at NHRA and other events supporting customers, he has been a near constant presence. People may not know his story and that’s what this video does, it tells Todd’s story. Not just his racing story but his Racepak story. The way he got to start working for the company in itself is pretty bad ass and proves that there’s no such thing as a chance meeting in life. One thing we want to clarify on Todd’s resume. He mentions driving alcohol funny cars. This guy was as bad ass as a bad ass could be in the (then) thriving world of IHRA alcohol funny car. He was the 1993 and 1995 world champion for Pete’s sake!
Not that we want to see these guys imitated (although they may be used to it by now) but there are lots of companies who should be doing this exact thing right now. It seems like a huge point of pride for Racepak to have so many employees who are active motorsports figures and deservedly so. They not only talk the talk but they walk the walk and whether it is checking something before racing starts or thrashing with someone between rounds to help them, these guys are all in.
