We’re going to kick things off this week with front engine dragsters, hot rods, muscle cars, and a whole bunch of California sunshine. The 6th annual Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo and Car Show went down last weekend and Daphne was on hand to shoot a bunch of photos, including some of drag racing legend Shirley Muldowney!
This show is put on only a few miles from the location where Lions Drag Strip ran and was dead nuts in the center of the drag racing universe in the 1960s and early 1970s. Aside from the awesome car show, the lineup of dragsters was pretty impressive.
From Muldowney’s machine to iron from Garlits, Ivo, Karamesines, and a host of others, this was a chance to see all these historic old slingshots gleaming in the midday sun as opposed to under the lamps at a museum.
