The Maniac Is At It Again: Colin Furze Is Building A Crotch-Rocket Powered Bumper Car!

First thing’s first: the BBC tapped Mr. Colin Furze, the man known for such fun projects as the weaponized Tuk-Tuk and a mobility scooter fast enough to run at Santa Pod, to build something that will impress The Stig. Apparently, with all of the turmoil that poor Stig has endured between a thrown punch and numerous guardian swaps, the BBC decided that the driver in white needed something to cheer him back up with. Picking England’s most unhinged backyard mechanic might seem to be a fireable offense at first, but at least Mr. Furze is giving it one hell of a shot. The project is a 1960s era bumper car (or, as he prefers, a “dodge’em”) that is going to be stuffed full of engine, one raided from a Honda CBR600RR, in fact.

Is Furze trying to stain the otherwise impeccably white suit of The Stig? In this first video, not yet…right now he’s just building the contraption, which means a full-on chassis build and engine mockup as well as the teardown of the bumper car. But what’s going to come out of this? Tire smoke for sure, as well as noise. We just don’t know if the noise will be high-revving superbike engine or one long, drawn-out scream as Stig makes one severely horrified noise when he lets this thing eat!
