Blame The Cool Air: Watch This Twin-Turbocharged Chevy Nova Point At The Georgia Sky!

If you can still get onto a track this late in the year, there’s only one reason to even go: cold air, the colder, the better. All that hot and humid summertime air isn’t helping the engine any, but feed it full of crisp, cool fall atmosphere and it’s like a small cheater system: it might not be a massive upgrade on your normal times, but you will notice. Or…well, maybe it might actually be a bit more than that. Take this Nova…a 406 small block with twin 76mm turbochargers is already a happy camper compared to a naturally aspirated block. There shouldn’t be any worry here, right? No messing with density altitudes or any of that witchcraft, the engine is packed full of all the oxygen the cylinders could ever use, right?

Well, the height of the nose tells the story here. This sucker climbed the ring gear like it was a flight of stairs and more while competing at the final Shut Up and Race event at South Georgia Motorsports Park. Go ahead and check “a clean firesuit” off on this guy’s Christmas wish list!
