Tech Tips, Killer Stories And Absolutely Zero Filter: Take A Moment And Stop By Uncle Tony’s Garage!

Tech Tips, Killer Stories And Absolutely Zero Filter: Take A Moment And Stop By Uncle Tony’s Garage!

I’m going to explain the actual garage like this: coming back from the Coker Tire cruise-in, I was not doing well. I had only slept four hours over two days, and because of some medical treatments that I’m currently dealing with, I was really having a hell of a time not being sick. I take my new medicine at noon on the dot every day, and it makes me feel like shit for about an hour. I left Chattanooga before the rains hit and a few minutes before noon, rolled up to the shop and let myself in. A few minutes later and the lord of the arena himself appeared, took one look at me, and led me to the couch in the office filled with salvaged emblems, artistic renderings, and shop manuals behind the garage space and told me to crash out for a couple of hours and regain my bearings. After waking up later refreshed and feeling more human than I did before, there was a barbecue, where I was going to eat something before making the long drive back home to BangShift Mid-West…no good food was going to waste and I wasn’t going away hungry, he wasn’t allowing it. In-between, there were plenty of stories and discussion while surrounded by many a Mopar project and even a in-the-works Chevy Nova.

Officially, the place is Mid-South Mopars, but pretty much anywhere that Tony DeFeo is at is Uncle Tony’s Garage. If you don’t know who DeFeo is…stick around for a few minutes, the older hats will give you one hell of a lesson. This man has done just about any and everything you have thought about doing, from street racing to playing in the big leagues with nitro. He’s been around and about for decades and while many hold him in a legendary status, DeFeo is as down to earth and as focused as they get. Fun is had, work is completed and those stories come flying out as the smell of bacon-wrapped pork and Thai chicken on a stick is cooking in the background. And he’s now trying out Facebook videos! He will offer up tips and tricks, share some of the stories he’s got, and will even answer fan-submitted tech questions if you’ve got ’em, which can be submitted via a video question to the Uncle Tony’s Garage Facebook page. Check out a couple of the videos below:
