If Cars Could Talk, This 1976 Chevrolet Camaro Would Be Telling All Sorts Of Stories!

If Cars Could Talk, This 1976 Chevrolet Camaro Would Be Telling All Sorts Of Stories!

You have to wonder just how a car like this 1976 Chevrolet Camaro comes into being, or how it’s managed to remain intact for so long. I’ll admit that I’m spitballing a bit, but this looks like a mid-to-late 1980s build, with Centerlines, wild paint that isn’t too intricate, and a small B&M blower on top of a swapped-in 400 Chevy small-block. Of course it’s wearing the triple butterfly-style scoop on top of the carburetor. Of course the interior is dead-stock and still sporting that strange plaid-looking fabric in red. Who wouldn’t want a watermelon-themed big-bumper Camaro?

That being said, it’s cool as it is. The 400 matches up to an M-22 four-speed, and the stock interior doesn’t look too bad in the photos. The paint…well, would you keep it? It’d be hard to not go for a dark cherry red and to tint the windows deeper to hide that Kool-Aid cherry red interior, but whatever the case, that mini-blower needs to stay and some better wheels and tires need to be added on!

  1. Rock On

Strange that it has all of the required 80’s styling tricks, but no rear spoiler!

  2. Big Sky Dreamer

That has to be the only Camaro with red interior plastic that hasn’t faded yet. The wife had a new black ’79 Z28 with red guts & I swear it faded to pink in about a year

Strange how Chevrolet stopped the Z28 in ’75 and ’76 but kept making the Trans Am. Paint would be the first thing to change and yes it does need a rear spoiler.

  4. OLDMANINAMERCURY

I dig it without the spoiler..

paint has gotta go … I would match up to the interior

a L88 hood would look great instead of the snorkle

as for the wheels.. I’m not feelin the center lines … break out a set of polished slots or good old fashioned Cragar S/S wheels
I wonder how long until Coker tire starts re poping Belted T/A look a likes

  5. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

It would be saying “I’ll hunt down and mangle the bastard under my wheels who turned me into a faggot-wagon”….
