Now THIS is awesome. A a proud former Wheel Horse owner, I can tell you that they are great little tractors that can do a myriad of jobs around the house but I can also tell you that a fast walk is the top speed. My kids learned to drive on mine in the back yard but never in a million years did I ever expect to see one on a drag strip, let alone one powered by a 1,000cc Honda CBR motorcycle engine! Yes, this Wheel Horse with a CBR 1000 motor runs 12s at Santa Pod where they must somehow classify it as a motorcycle or something as the dude has leathers and a helmet on. After that the only protection is from physics, the Good Lord, or all of the above.
The launch is a little wonky but once this guy get’s the ship out of port, the little tractor really scoots. He bangs through the gears and stops the clock at little more than 12.50 and with a speed of over 100mph. While the stamped steel “chassis” appears to have been beefed up, the wheelbase and overall layout of this rig just screams sketchy at speed.
We’re wondering if this tractor is normally used in the modified garden tractor pulling realm or if it was specifically designed for drags strip duty. The rear tires are definitely of an agricultural or off-road slant so that would make sense. Either way, we’re loving this thing and every “racing” mower we have seen has been on the street and never with a full quarter mile pull under it. Yee Haw!
