Hey, if we’re going to show you a 1,000hp wheel VW we need to back it up with something making even more power, right? How about a stunning 1,500hp Pontiac that uses twin turbos on an engine that uses a FACTORY IRON BLOCK AND FACTORY D-PORT HEADS. Sorry for screaming that part but this is freaking wild. The whole car is among the coolest things we have seen in a long, long time. A planetary style transmission, the Pontiac engine, and license plates mean that this thing is as bad ass a street car as exists in our known universe.
The video is part of the Master of FASTER web series that is centered around the work and racing exploits of Pennsylvania’s Andy Jensen. This is a guy who has had six second street cars for more than 20 years, kicked ass in the IHRA with a single turbo small block pro mod, and knows how to not only build bad ass stuff, but make good stuff even better.
The car came to Andy’s shop for dyno tuning and as you will see at the start of the video, Andy is convinced that they are going to throw the crank clear out of the block by the end of the session. What actually happens is that the mill drastically out performs the expectations of Jensen and the car’s owner by a mile.
You just have to watch this and always remember, block from a 1968 Bonneville and factory D-port iron freaking heads on this monster. SO GOOOOOD!

That block has to have 4 bolt mains put in it and of course a forged set of rods … pistons… and crank… no way stock… in 64 you turned any GTO near 6000 rpm and you’d knock the mains out… oiling from the factory wouldn’t take it…

65 GTO the Best 389 cu ever built, unreal fast. Should have not sold it & bought a new 68 GTO. The 65 was much more fun to drive.
I wish I had my ‘64 GTO! With a little help from Jess Tyree, it was wicked. I went to get a haircut and came home with a new Pontiac ‘64 GTO, boy those were the days.
Why in the world is this story about Andy? I personally know Jim(“the owner”) and his shop -Yanoski’s West County speed. Jim and Andy have been friends for many years, but I have seen this car grow from the ground up. Andy may have had his hands in Machining the engine and maybe helping Jim out here and there with some of the turbocharged stuff, but thats it. This horrible video makes you believe that Andy built this car and that that is so untrue. I’ve seen Jim put years into building this car in his shop. It would be nice if bangshift would have least mentioned the owner’s name and Shop, and by the way. Only the Chevy guys like Andy thought that it wouldn’t make the power that it did. Yanoski is a long time Pontiac lover and racer. For God’s sake Bang shift 1320 give credit where credit is due. Yes, Andy is an awsome engine builder and race car guy, but get your story straight
