The 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Season is officially underway, with both Sportsman and Professional classes hitting the famed strip in Pomona Thursday and Friday. We’ve got great wheels up action photos to share from some of the first runs of the 2019 season and are thrilled to see such cool small tire and big tire cars in action. NHRA’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will include 24 stops this year, with Pomona being the place that everything starts and ends for the season. We’ll have both Sportsman and Professional action photos from this weekend in Pomona, so stay tuned and watch for more tomorrow and throughout the week.

NHRA Stock and Super Stock classes are some of our favorites on the planet. Stock Eliminator is the original small tire drag racing class with just 9 inches of tread on the ground and yet there is no lack of bumper dragging action from these factory hot rods. We can’t get enough of them. And NHRA Super Stock is some of the best big tire racing you’ll find anywhere with every car pushing factory parts to the limit and showing as much of the underside of these cars as possible.
