At Least It’s Cheap: This 1985 Nissan Truck Is One Of eBay’s More Odd Items For Sale At The Moment

So here’s a good story. My 12-year old is home for summer vacation from school and like a good dad, I got annoyed at looking at his mopey rump just lounging around the house. I have employed his talents as a car-loving, YouTube watching, eBay scanning youth and turned him into a research assistant of sorts. That’s where this truck came from. “Find me something weird for sale on eBay,” I directed him. “Ok, I’ll see what I can do,” he said. That turned into a whole different thing, but the end result was him coming back to me with the link to this trucks and frankly, the boy done good.

Outside of a lowering job, you are looking at basically a bone stock 1985 Nissan truck with just shy of 200,000 miles on it. The truck is not currently running but did run recently. It has been torn apart of late and that’s where things get interesting. The seller says that it got a new head gasket, the “cylinders sanded”, and the carb cleaned at 188,000 miles. It has relatively new tires, starter, oil pan gasket, and even an alignment. So what gives? What gives is that the owner has finally said enough is enough and just wants to be rid of this not so high “flying Tiger”.

There is a weird element of this truck that we like. The kind of funny homage to old Japanese cars with the fender mirrors and the yellow tint on the inner headlights. The WWII style nose art is something and we cannot tell if they are decals or if the stuff is painted on. Either way, that’s what grabbed the attention of a 12 year old and lead to a cool discussion about where that look came from and what it meant.

So, this non-running, weird, beat all to hell Nissan could be yours for the princely sum of $1,600. That’s about $1,500 heavy in our eyes.

eBay: 1985 Nissan truck is hilarious, strange, stock, and completely non-running

This would be a great first “car” for Jack…the girls will love it (?). Kerri and the neighborhood would…. (?).

He tried to hone the cylinders with sandpaper? This guy may have created the perfect engine swap candidate.

Passed the smog test and is not running?

I heard about cars passing a safety check with no engine; Because the safest car is sometimes the parked car!
