One of the “don’t miss” events in Tennessee are the Redneck Rumble shows that Both Barrels Productions puts on at the Wilson County Fairgrounds near Lebanon, Tennessee. I’ve managed to make a few of the springtime shows, but everybody I ever talked to on the subject said that if I really wanted to see what the fuss was all about, that I needed to go to one of the fall events. You couldn’t have asked for a better day to go, and the scenery was exactly what I had been told about, with less swap meet vendors and more cars parked for show. The cars themselves didn’t surprise me any (a strong mix of 1920s-1970s iron of all types) but the amount did. From diesel-powered rigs idling their way through the swap meet areas to the indoor car show that held some absolute knockout pieces, you weren’t hurting for choice.
We could’ve spent the entire day roaming the fairgrounds and checking out the details on each car before catching some flat-track motorcycle racing action, but with half of the day already spent checking up on Stacey David’s operation, we had to make do with a fast walk-around. You’ll have plenty of galleries for a “fast” walk-around, though, so don’t think we’re leaving anything worthwhile out!
Nice!
