On a day where I’m lusting over a 1963 Plymouth Savoy station wagon, my son Tom shot me this link to some guys beating on an LS2 powered Subaru Legacy wagon in some snowy crappy weather. This is the kind of dumb fun that we have not had in a car in a while and that’s a damned tragedy. This video is also a great reason to become obsessed with performing a cheap LS swap on a Subaru station wagon, something that likely has not crossed your radar lately. It had not crossed ours, that is for sure.
We have seen loads of examples of people jabbing LS engines into different year WRX models but to see this Subaru with a stick, the 6.0L LS2 out of a GTO, the right lowered stance, and some sweet looking Wilwood brakes, makes us smile and nod in approval. The car destroying tires and making the dudes inside it laugh and giggle like school girls is even better. The part of the video where they are baiting a Mustang and the Mustang guy seems to understand he’s about to have trouble is awesome.
There’s no rocket science here and frankly this is the type of thing that has been going on in hot rodding since the 1950s, right? Take unassuming car, stuff in hairy chested engine, have fun with your buddies. The bedrock of hot rodding and this is just a modern example. We’d love to jam some gears in this car for sure!
