You’re probably stuck at home. Hopefully you are stuck at home and in a healthy state waiting this whole mess out. The video is designed to cheer you up. Why? Well because if you are at home, you cannot wreck your car! See? That’s an upside! Normally when we show you wreckage from the Nurburgring it centers around people in their dumb streets cars over driving them and bashing them off the walls. This footage is all racing stuff though. We are not seeing any of this as professional racing but everyone involved in this video is in competition. One of the competitions is apparently trying to brain your opponent with a helmet after a wreck, a scene you will see late in the video.
Many of the crashes are caused by two guys just trying to be in the same place at the same time. Both drivers entering a corner and refusing to lift or yield to their opponent. It’s one of the things that separates the professional level racer from the amateur, right? Having the control and the ability to recognize when to fall back or when to pour on the coals. In this footage there’s lots more pouring on of the coals than there is giving up position entering a corner.
Some of the crashes, especially stuff like the first one are just quizzical to watch. It’s like “how the hell did that just happen?!” but many of the others are not too difficult to discern the root cause of. Coming into corners too hot, not being 100% aware of the race track and the braking areas, and the list goes on.
It looks to us like everyone walks away and this footage is proof of why The Green Hell is such an accurate name.
WTH! Just goes to prove that having the fancy driver’s suit and a 300,000 Euro MunsterWagon car doesn’t make you a driver. LMAO. Some of these guys shouldn’t be allowed to drive on the highway let alone in a race.
