The explosion in popularity of iRacing in the recent months has been amazing to watch with amateur racers gaining in status because of their abilities and pro racers looking both good and sometimes shockingly bad in their simulators. But what about the eRacing series? Ahh yes, you may not have known about this one and it is fantastic. The guys at Dinner With Racers created this awesome spoof of the whole scene. They made the first version of this farcical program last year and we loved it when that video hit but this one really takes the cake.
For starters, if you do not listen to or watch Dinner With Racers, you should. It’s an awesome podcast and web show that is exactly what it sounds like. Sharing a meal with someone in racing that you’d love to know more about. The conversations are fun, smart, poignant, and brain food for anyone who really loves racing. The eRacing deal was hilarious when it first launched but this 2.0 video is even better, especially given the current circumstances and excitement around simulated motorsports. It takes all the stuff about real life racing, all the semi-dorky stuff about iRacing, and mixes into a wonderfully smart and serious spoof.
From the “walk the paddock” option to the “racing trade show” mode, to all of the other jabs they get in here, we love it. If you like funny stuff that is smart, this is your jam!
