(By Tom Lohnes) – BMW has done it again. They plastered a huge grille onto the front of an all-new vehicle and made it ever-polarizing. This time around though, it doesn’t look terrible.
With the launch of the new F30 BMW 3-series, the F32 4-series has come along with it. Sporting 2 doors, baby 8-series looks, and giant kidney grilles, it’s got the modern BMW face people are freaking out about.
The base 430i comes in RWD and BMW’s Turbo 4-pot that is in every vehicle from the flagship 740e to the new 2021 Toyota Supra. The 430i has 255 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft of torque and an 8-speed ZF automatic. Next up is the M440i, with a 3.0-liter B58 straight 6 that is once again found in everything from the 7-series to the Supra. The B58 has AWD, 382 horsepower, and once again an 8-speed auto. The M4 on the other hand, is going to have 2 versions. The normal M4 will have a 480 horsepower and the S58 engine found in the BMW X3M.
Another thing the M4 will have is a manual transmission. AWD will be standard. Next up is the 503 horsepower M4 Competition. Now having a DCT, the Competition should be faster than ever. Likely, the M4 competition will get to 60in about 3.4 seconds. Expect the new BMW 4-series to start sales in the winter and start around $50,000.
Nothing screams “I got money” more than driving a buck tooth car.
Absolutely indescribably awful.
Nope
Makes the Edsel grill look darn good. BMW lost their ball in the high weeds.
easy to see why they post a picture with a big shadow hiding its ugliness!
