When Charles sent me this blog item I had to laugh because I’ve been watching Puddin’s Fab Shop on and off for a while. He’s funnier than hell, actually builds some entertaining stuff, and most importantly has the best one-liners and redneck sayings I’ve ever heard. So here is the blog item that Charles sent in.

In this day and age, it’s easy to go down a YouTube rabbit hole, and I did exactly that a few months ago when I discovered the channel Puddins Fab Shop. Puddin, aka Datsun King’ aka Jacob, has been at the YouTube thing for a few years now and has been steadily growing in viewers while filming his shenanigans of automobile revivals and fab work done in the garage next to his house.
In this video series Puddin is reviving his old Datsun 620 truck that was once a long bed that he then decided to make unique when he bobbed the bed, which means the bed ends right after the rear wheels. Puddin built this truck when he turned 18 for less than $1,200 dollars and it got a magazine feature because of his hard and unique work, but none of that meant it was particularly good.
Fast forward to present day and Puddin decided to pull the old truck out of his family’s back pasture and give it a new lease on life, which includes a whole new rear subframe, wiring, fuel lines, and other odds and ends. The original build was crude and he owns up to it, he was a kid, he was learning and in my opinion he did a pretty good job. I’ve seen a lot worse work from people who had been doing fabrication work a lot longer than him, but know he’s honed his skills and doing some really great work now so follow along as we follow Puddins adventures and shenanigans in the rebuild of his first minitruck.
Jacob is a great guy and quite talented. Great to see him get some real exposure here.
Puddin is an amazing guy and both my girls love him to death
Love you Puddin’!!
