Karl’s latest project is his 1939 Lincoln Zephyr which has been talked about several times in other videos but has been waiting for its turn on the chopping block so to speak. The plan for this project is to take this 4-door and start cutting it up not only to chop the top but also to convert it into a 2-door coupe. How much work is that going to be you ask? A lot, but maybe not as much as you think. You’ll know at the end of this video though because even though it is only Part 1 it is the part where all the planning and figuring is being done so that this project will actually work out like he wants.
Unlike some folks who just start hacking stuff apart, Karl is a planner and likes to make sure things are done just so. It’s a great lesson we can all learn from so that our own projects go together smoother. Before getting out the saw on a project like this it is a smart idea to plan, measure, figured, measure, and mark the body so you know just where to cut and when. The order in which you cut does matter on a project like this, and I can’t wait to watch it all coming together.
