After installing a cool Duvall windshield on their 1931 Model A Ford Roadster, Karl at Make It Kustom wanted to do a split grill shell as well. The car is running a ’32 Grill Shell, which stock has one big opening in it, but Karl wanted to make it something special, and he started the process during the first part of this video series. This one is going to need shrinking, stretching, and more, and will utilize the Shape-O-Matic power hammer, hand tools, and the planishing hammer too.

In this video, you’ll see metal shaping done and the process for making this complicated piece will come to light. In the previous video templates and a wire form were used because it was the easiest way to see what the metal needs to do in order to take the shape you want. And then Karl shows us just how to get that shape to happen. Check it out.
