(Photos by Charles Wickam) – The Kontinentals Bayou Round Up took place a little while back and our own Charles Wickam was there on the scene to tell us all about it and give us a great look at the show. This is the first of two collections of photos that we’ll run from the event that has been growing since its formation a couple of years back and the 2017 Bayou Round Up has already been announced. That’s awesome and the Kontinentals are known for their ability to throw a great event, whether on the show or racing side.
One of the things that makes this one neat is the location. Held in Lafayette, Louisiana it has all the cool touches that you’d expect from a show of this nature. This is what the Kontinentals website for the show had to say:
“The Bayou Round Up is held on the grounds of Lafayette’s Blackham Coliseum, built originally in 1948 for use of livestock shows, basketball games and civic exhibitions – and later home for many years to the LAGCOE Gulf Coast oil & gas expo and many live concerts and performances. The history of this place in the community and its perfectly preserved vintage atmosphere makes it the ideal backdrop for the Bayou Round Up.
The amazing scenery all around Lafayette is great for cruises out to some great old dancehalls, historic sites and always incredible food and music to enjoy here in the heart of cajun country.”
