(Photos by Charles Wickam) – Tis the season for hot rodding fun in Texas! The shows and gatherings have started with the famed Texas Hoedown being among the first of the big ones every year. 2017 is no different and thankfully our man Charles Wickam was on the scene with his camera to capture images from the event.

While the flyers and the website say “pre-72” only, we spied some 1980s era stuff in these photos. We’re not complaining and the mix of stuff is wide enough that there’s something for everyone to be into at this event. The cloudy skies may have kept some of the weenies at bay but it seems that a lot more people realized that their cars were not water soluble than those who feared that they were.

There was mini-bike fun, a tug of war, a pin-up contest, a swap meet, and loads more going on. This was a full day of fun and Wickam sure seems like he had one.
