Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals Gallery: The Classic Chevrolets Invade Kentucky!

The Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals have proven to be one of the more popular shows of recent addition to Beech Bend’s calendar. It’s amazing how strong a following the 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet car line still has after all these years. The design certainly dates to the 1950s, but from the basic 150 to the top-tier Bel Air, something about these cars has stuck with enthusiasts. The headlights with eyebrows, the fins, the chrome side trim, the iconic four-pane badges…sure, a lot of the magic had to do with the early small-block Chevrolet, an engine that no engineer who had hands-on in the design process could’ve ever imagined would be as successful as it was, but the look is what captivates people. The look is what sells that car to generation after generation. Very few vehicles have the same kind of instant recognition wherever you go than saying you have a ’57 Chevy. The world over knows what that car looks like. Along with the two preceding years, they are the automotive symbol of burger joints, cruising, and early rock-and-roll music. They are as tame as a rental car and as buck-wild and as technologically advanced as the 283 Fuelie had to be in 1957…and that’s before you get into the almost mind-boggling levels of customization that owners do to these cars.

With sunny skies and weather not a real concern, the fans brought their machines out and filled up the show area beautifully. We’ll have a few galleries from the Tri-Five Nationals to show you, so enjoy this first look by clicking on a photo below!
