Patina. Some guys love it, some guys hate it, some guys fake it, and some guys just call it rust. Us? We prefer to call it character! It can be argued that our own Chad Reynolds and his infamous Rusty 1956 Chevy wagon were on the vanguard of the patina movement. Chad’s car is a ratty lookin’ Chevy wagon body set down on top of a Chevy Caprice cop car chassis. Rust, cracked glass, and all Chad paraded that car around America on the Power Tour, Drag Week, and other road trips. It is his calling cars and I am in the process of ragging his ass until it sees daylight again.
In this gallery you will see a great variety of cars and trucks with some nicely produced natural aging and weathering on their outsides. We tried to keep a keen eye out for fake patina and there’s one or two in here that could go either way. This is certainly not the gallery for guys into super shiny paint and perfecto body work. We’re certainly not knocking either one of those things, but everyone has their own taste. If you haven’t had a tetanus shot in a while, proceed with caution!

So my father’s ’59 Dodge’s rusty headlights were just severe patina? If I had only known.
Around here a lot of the cars have shiney new paint on the body ,but if you look underneath there is a bunch of ”character”.
patina=short for lazy (except the rare barn find)
I have five cars with patina on them. As soon as I can get to them I plan on removing that patina and making them something worth looking at.
To each his own. Some folks like driving rust buckets, other don’t. When I see cars like these I see potential. Not a completed project.
Just say no to RUST.
Patina is getting old.
