Junkyard Gallery: Fleming’s Junkyard – Egg Harbor, New Jersey – Lots Of Neat Rusting Stuff!

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – Earlier today we showed you a great gallery from the famed, and yearly Pumpkin Run at Fleming’s Junkyard in Egg Harbor, New Jersey. In that gallery we showed you race cars, trucks, hot rods, muscle cars, and generally shiny stuff. In this gallery, we’re taking you inside the junkyard to show you some of the classic, cars, trucks, and just awesome old stuff that is in the woods at Fleming’s. Joe Grippo climbed through the briers and the brambles to get great photos of iron that is returning to the Earth slowly. While you will certainly see many cars and trucks that are far beyond even rat rod transformation status, there are some cars in this gallery that could be saved whole and that can definitely donate some sheetmetal or other components to restoration and hot rod projects.

Junkyards have been and always will be the home turf of hot rodders. Whether it be for fixing some mundane problem or for scrounging a good factory engine to use as a core on a build or for picking the carcass of a dead car for parts that can be adapted to use on another hot rod, where normal people see hopeless wrecks, we see promise. They are also great places to wander around and let your imagination run free regarding how some of the stuff got there in the first place. Enjoy this trip to Fleming’s Junkyard, it is one hell of a place!

Great series! I don’t see many of these kind of yards anymore. I’ve always wondered if they ever sold anything, or just kept accumulating.

Why let them rot away? Some were scrap to begin with but I’m sure some of them were in nice shape, I feel they deserved a better end.
