More Great Hot Rods and Customs From NSRA 2016 – They Keep On Coming!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – One thing to appreciate on the early cars is how many different customizing touches work on the body styles.  Chopping, sectioning, channeling, filling, frenching, shaving, and adding louvers are all accepted and time-tested methods for adding personal flare to these body styles and applying one or more gives each their own unique personality.  On the earlier stuff you have low headlights, high headlights, headlights on bars, headlights on posts, big lights, little lights, and more.

With many fenders are optional as are hoods or hood sides.  The conceivable combinations exceed what can be counted and when you add color choice, wheel and tire combinations it is hard to find any two exactly alike.  Just when I think I’ve stumbled upon what appear to be twins….differences appear showing each owner’s individual tastes.  In this gallery I want to highlight the burgundy, blown-hemi Deuce roadster.  This thing was detailed to the extreme and was completely built by a father & son team in a home garage.  We shot a bunch of photos of it and will hopefully bring you details and more images in a feature article.

Enjoy the photos.
