(Words and Photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) – It’s time to get back in the swing of things, as the car show and drag racing season gets started. Injected Engineering, a performance shop in Kennesaw, Georgia, always kicks off the year with a Customer Appreciation Dyno Day. The shop focuses on late model high performance cars, and handles bolt-on modifications, full engine builds, transmission builds, suspension and much more. We were on hand to see some of their creations in action, and you won’t believe some of the cars that came out for the Dyno Day.
The turnout was strong, with more than 100 cars filling the parking lots and side streets surrounding the shop. Not all of them actually registered for the event, but we had fun scoping them out in the parking lot. Wanna know the crazy thing about this event? Almost everything had a supercharger hanging off of it. Seriously.
So, let’s do a quick rundown of some of the crazy stuff at the Injected Engineering Dyno Day—a Procharged C6 Z06 with 1,000+ rear wheel horsepower, a ’67 Trans Am with a supercharged 454 LSX, a Miata with a Kenne Bell-blown small block Ford….should we keep going? Ok, a late model Mercury Cougar with a supercharged Mod Motor, a Lincoln Mark VIII with a supercharged Mod Motor and possibly the cleanest Ford Lightning in existence. All of this stuff is making big time power, thanks to the guys at Injected Engineering. The crew dyno’d more than 30 cars in about five hours, so hat’s off to them for a well-organized event. Oh, and the free BBQ was awesome!
The Customer Appreciation Dyno Day was a huge success, and it was basically a drool-fest for any car guy that likes horsepower. Check out our gallery and hit up www.injectedengineering.com to see some of their other builds.
Great gallery Tommy. I bet your eyes were watering after that Cummins filled the shop up with smoke.
