(Photos by Bob Chiluk) – Jeff Schwartz has long established himself as one of the most innovative and creative thinkers in the realm of pro touring/g-machine type cars. From his own 1982 Cadillac that cleaned house at the 2002 Car Craft Real Street Eliminator contest, to his Ultima GTR that swallows the world’s most expensive super cars whole, to his current “Temptress” Pontiac LeMans that we watched carve up the autocross and road course at the 2012 Run to the Shore, Schwartz has a very impressive resume. He also has a very successful business in Schwartz Performance. He handles everything from upgrading cars to full builds, but the core of the enterprise is his frame business. Schwartz manufactures bolt in frames for tons of popular old cars. These frames allow enthusiasts to build hard core, mind bending handlers out of classic muscle cars.
Our own Bob Chiluk busted through the wall at Schwartz’s place like the Kool-Aid man and started wildly blasting photos before the authorities came and took him away. Ok, that’s a bit of a stretch. Jeff gave Bob the green light to roam free and capture all of the coolness held in the three building units that house the whole operation. As you’ll see there are a bunch of completed frame heading out the door, more being made, and some 100% bad ass project cars.
According to Bob, the Gremmie will keep AMC power with a gnarly suspension, huge brakes, and a power to weight ratio guaranteed to humiliate lots of more expensive and “cool” stuff. Dig the hand made fender flares, too! We fell in love with the white Trans-Am that is getting a turbo mill installed (with LSx Holley intake!) and the Nelson Racing Engines powered Chevelle.
