Power Tour folks and Hot Rod Reunion participants filled the fields around Beech Bend Raceway with a broad mix of machines that all were drool worthy for one reason or another. My only regret is that I only had a couple of hours to dedicate to the show fields, because I’m not sure I came close to seeing everything there was to see out there! That doesn’t mean I didn’t see a good spread…from the thumper of a V8-powered Ford Pinto idling by the Brewster’s Ice Cream trailer to an old-school Batmobile appearing out of seemingly nowhere, you could ignore the dragstrip altogether and still find plenty to keep you entertained for hours, if not days. With coolers filled with sodas, water and whatever libation made sense that morning, the owners and friends were usually talking with fans…if they weren’t in the stands enjoying a blast of nitro!
