The LA Roadster Show Is The West’s Largest, And A SoCal Legend, Our Photos Start Here.

The LA Roadster Show Is The West’s Largest, And A SoCal Legend, Our Photos Start Here.

We’ve visited the LA Roadster Show almost every year since moving to SoCal, and can tell you that it is not just a car show, but a lifestyle event that has people from all over the country flocking to Sunny California for this iconic celebration of all things roadster. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of other cars here that don’t fit the roadster definition. In fact, there are hundreds of customs, hot rods, muscle cars, and more on display and cruising the show ground at the Fairplex.

Inside the main area are tons of vendors, a roadster or ten for every taste, and lots of people wandering around checking it all out.

And did we mention the swap meet yet? No? Well there is one hell of a swap meet on hand, with car parts of all kinds and for all years, but with a special nod toward the pre-1936 Roadsters. With that said, we saw plenty of killer muscle car parts on hand as well, and wish we had the money to buy some of the fun things we saw.

We’re going to be sharing several galleries with you from our time at the show, but gallery number one is going to be a mix of all kinds of things we saw at the show. Check all the photos out below, and remember that clicking on any photo will make it bigger and let you scroll through all of them like a slide show.

  1. 3rd Generation

As the old timers croak the hobby is dying and this years LARS & Swap is a perfect Bad Example of Why. Ridiculous prices for everything from parking to food & bev and poorly managed overall. Who could afford (and why) to bring a family there for a day out ?

Fortunately, there is so much fantastic car activity nearby you don’t really need the ‘show’ at the Fairplex at all. I’ll be back down to LA next year for the hot rod friends private parties, the shop open houses a few cruises to interesting destinations – (not some shit fair parking lot) and the general So Cal hot rod ambience. There is plenty to do in SoCal car-related (Petersen & Nethrcut to mention two). Who needs Pomona ? I know the vendors. They all have 800 # and internet…

When I drive back North, I’ll lift a middle finger when driving through and past Pomona to those old worn out antiques – the LA Roadsters – you old fools have shit where you eat for the last time with me. Too Bad. You greedy dinosaurs have made nothing but money for far too many years on that show.

If you’re too old and tired to do it right, close the thing down and just buy a cemetary plot and get in it.
