(Words and Photos by Charles Wickam) When one thinks “shopping mall,” they think back to school, battling the Christmas crowd, or getting a tasty pretzel and lemonade. For me, a recent move to Colorado and a visit to the local mall opened my eyes to something completely new and different from anything I’d ever seen in any other mall, an automotive museum. Now you’re probably thinking, car museum in a mall, they could only get a hand full of cars in an indoor retail space, but you would be wrong. In the Rodz & Bodz Museum in the Colorado Mills mall they have amassed a collection of around 60 motorized vehicles and for a few dollars you can tour thru the mostly Hollywood screen-used vehicles and replicas from Stuntman Mikes Nova, to Martys Toyota 4×4 from Back to the Future, to one of my favorites, the Pizza Planet Toyota truck from Toy Story. I would highly recommend this to the parent who may have little ones who need to take their minds off the boredom of shopping and with a few CARS movie replicas I bet the kids would be super excited to see just those without having to Mickey’s theme park. So if you’re ever in the Golden Colorado area, stop by the mall, grab a pretzel and check out the cool and rotating collection at the Rodz & Bodz museum.
