I get cabin fever pretty badly. I am the kind of person who would rather be outdoors, enjoying fresh air, feeling the breeze on my skin than be the kind who sits at home all day long. Soon as the sun starts to shine, I want to be outside, doing things. I’ve got cars to work on, places to go, people to see, and events to cover. Seeing how I’ve got two tracks in my backyard, I wanted to get out and go see what was going on during the weekend. So, with camera at the ready, I piled into the Cougar and headed back to NCM Motorsports Park to check out what was simply listed on the website as “BingeTokyo”.
Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t sure what I was going to see at a show with that kind of name, but upon arriving it turns out that I was at two events in one. The BingeTokyo event was a track day kind of deal, so cars like that Nissan GT-R above were out flexing their muscles on the course. It wasn’t even limited to Japanese cars…we ran into Brian Sparks and Casey Woodside out flogging their Camaros, and there was even a relatively new Aston Martin out having a ball. The other side of NCM had the Southern Roots Spring Fling, a car show that…well, our best suggestion is to flip through the gallery for a glimpse inside. I will say that there was a good amount of cars that showed up and that some of them were done up pretty well quality-wise.
Before you cut loose on the cars, though, remember: even if it isn’t exactly what you wanted, a bad day at the track is still ten times better than if you didn’t go at all.
