SEMA 2018: Sneaking Back In After-Hours To See Cars On The Floor!

In the past, I’ve likened shooting photos at the SEMA show to trying to capture a great moment with your friends clearly while you’re in the center of a mosh pit at a Pantera concert…with tons of people filling the floor, the task is just barely possible. But, once the show shuts down for the evening, just about everyone is gone from the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Just about everyone. There are a few that are allowed in after-hours to get work done in relative peace as the final displays are being put together. No crowds, no real noise, just photographer and car, unbothered.

From our first day’s worth of looking, we’ve already found plenty to look at that is very, very worthy that’s spread across plenty of genres, from our musclecar favorites to Volkswagens to the tons of trucks everywhere. Let’s face facts – the crowds come to SEMA to see the cars! From the Cheetah with the engine from the guys at V12LS.com to my dream machine Laguna at Chevrolet to the wild rear-engined, Buick-powered Volkswagen, we’re covering it all. Be sure to check out the gorgeous machines at House of Kolor!
