American Powertrain Parting Shift: A 1933 Willys With A 514ci Ford and A Lenco Rips The Quarter Mile

While you may have lost track of what day of the week it is like we often do, it is Friday and because it is Friday around here, it’s American Powertrain Parting Shift time. For this video we head to West Salem, Ohio and the vaunted Dragway 42, which is an awesome race track given a new lease on life several years ago. The car we are going to ride in is a little 1933 Willys powered by a 514ci Ford big block and that engine is backed by a four speed Lenco transmission. The car is an 8-second, 150mph rocket and it looks like big fun to drive!

We know that these are some strange days that we are living through right now and we know that it is going to get worse before it gets better around these parts, seemingly. We’re hoping that all of you are staying safe, doing what you need to to do support your family or whoever else is in your life and that we all come out of this in one piece. We take pride in the fact that many people are hanging out here at Banghift to help fill the time these days and that is why we’re doing our level best to keep you entertained and to keep your gearhead minds filled with bad ideas and fun thoughts about what you want to do after this whole mess subsides.

Us? Hell, we want to get in this Willys!

AWESOME !!!! I live in Cleveland Ohio and great to see any race cars back on the track. I am a friend of Brian Spotts and waiting to see his \”Its Crazy\” car out there again (A/GS)!! I have picked up a 1933 Willys with a 528 Hemi carte engine (ProStreet) and can\’t wait to hit the road.
Good Luck in you racing !!
