(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We’re not quite sure how Grippo actually lived through his time at the 2015 FE Race and Reunion at Beaver Springs Dragway. The guy is a Ford man to the core and he is also a lover of drag racing history and cool stuff in general. His head must have been on a swivel while walking through the show area and seeing all of the Thunderbolts, Mustangs, Galaxies, and trucks that were all powered by FE big block engines.

Few engines were offered in a wild an array of performance setups over the years. Low, medium, and high riser, Cobra Jet, Cammer, Police Interceptor, etc. That’s the neat thing. since this engine had a good run and it spanned a lot of time after the high performance guys had moved on and that’s confirmation that it is a fundamentally great engine.
