(Photos by Wes Allison) – We’re back with more great action photos from the 2018 Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway Pomona. The opener of the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Season has brought big crowds to the drag strip and it has brought big performances from the drivers and teams. Clay Millican leveled the field in qualifying, making the quickest pass in the history of the top fuel category. In funny car Matt Hagan closed the night with a monster 3.822 pass that reminded everyone that he, Dick Venebles and the crew will be a force to be reckoned with in 2018.
